The MBS multirake bar screen features a filtration section composed of bars set at specific intervals based on requirements, accompanied by a movable rake or multiple rakes. These rakes are instrumental in cleaning the filtration area and transporting the collected screenings to the discharge chute.
Renowned for its traditional design, this equipment is celebrated for its reliability and consistent performance.
The operational principle is straightforward: the bars capture particles, leading to a blockage that causes an upstream level increase. At this juncture, comb-like rakes driven by chains spring into action, clearing the screenings and moving them towards the discharge area.
A specialized mechanical arm mechanism is employed to ensure thorough cleaning of the comb throughout the discharge of screenings and before they are returned to the filtration area for the next cycle.
Simeco’s innovative design, which excludes lower sprockets, eliminates issues related to comb blockages or complications from accumulated screenings. This feature also simplifies maintenance, negating the need to remove the screen from its channel.
A specific mechanical torque limit system is in place to avert chain malfunctions should oversized objects enter the screen. For enhanced safety, this system can be integrated with an electrical setup to monitor the motor’s power consumption.
While the standard installation is in a channel, the system can also be adapted for tank installations in unique situations.
The construction materials include options like stainless steel grades 304 or 316, with the availability of duplex stainless steel upon request. The comb can also be crafted from HDPE or UHMWPE if specified.
Key benefits of this system include:
- Resistance to clogging
- High capacity for flow
- Simplified maintenance
- Straightforward installation
Additionally, the unit can be equipped with a control panel, available in either an electromechanical format or with PLC control, upon request.
