SGW grit classifier is an advanced machine designed for solid-liquid separation, specifically tailored to remove and wash grit from water. This process is essential for reducing odor problems associated with grit disposal. The SGW grit classifier is particularly effective in handling grit from movable bridges or air-lift systems and is also highly applicable in septage acceptance pre-treatment systems due to its proficiency in grit cleaning.

The design of the SGW grit washer and classifier includes a conical hopper paired with a screw conveyor. The hopper features a volute-shaped inlet, engineered to accelerate the water velocity before entering the hopper. Within the hopper, a stirrer equipped with a special helical blade system creates a vortex effect, enhancing the settlement of grit. The separated grit accumulates at the bottom of the conical hopper, where it is thoroughly washed by a specialized washing system featuring a rubber-made membrane.
The grit is then transferred from the hopper to the screw conveyor trough via the lower part of the stirrer. It is subsequently conveyed to the outlet bin by a shafted screw conveyor. To ensure durability, the trough of the extraction screw is protected by a wear-resistant coating.

The SGW grit classifier is suitable for a variety of applications, including:
To cater to specific operational needs, the unit can be equipped with a control panel upon request, available in either electromechanical or PLC-controlled formats.
